Announcing Avocet 40th Anniversary edition, with exclusive live tracks 14 August, 2019

The 15 November 2019 will see the release of a special 40th Anniversary Edition of Bert Jansch's classic Avocet. The release, by Earth Recordings, will come pressed on white vinyl and include downloadable bonus tracks.

This new edition of Avocet — the album often singled out as Bert’s best work — features three never-before heard tracks recorded live in Italy in 1977 with Martin Jenkins. Jansch aficionado Colin Harper provides sleevenotes, which are accompnied by exclusive reminiscences from Danny Thompson on the making of the album.

Career-spanning Bert Jansch collection coming October 18 Jul, 2018

Just A Simple Soul, the first comprehensive Best Of collection spanning Bert Jansch’s 5-decade-long career, and compiled in collaboration with Bernard Butler, was released 26 October 2018.

Presented chronologically over 2 discs, Just A Simple Soul reminds us of Bert’s enduring legacy and his influence across the musical spectrum. As Bernard eloquently puts it in his sleevenotes, "Bert lived and breathed the sound of the guitar and its endless possibilities for communication, storytelling, conversation, emotional dialogue. We have a life’s work here, and what a life Bert Jansch has given us."

Charisma albums reissue due for Record Store Day 2018 6 Mar, 2018

Fans of Bert's mid-70s records known as the Charisma records, rejoice! This year's Record Store Day sees reissues of all three, from the wonderful people at Earth Recordings.

Each reissue comes pressed in its own colour vinyl: L.A. Turnaround comes in deep blue, Santa Barbara Honeymoon gets a rich purple treatment, and A Rare Conundrum turns golden.

The Genius of Bert Jansch returns to BBC Four 24 Feb, 2018

A rare and welcome UK repeat of BBC Four's Genius of Bert Jansch, containing highlights from the 2013 Southbank Centre tribute show, will be aired late this coming Sunday night.

The show features musical luminaries Ralph McTell, Bernard Butler, Robert Plant, Lisa Knapp, Mara Carlyle and Wizz Jones, alongside Neil Young's Bert cover made in Jack White's recording booth.

Catch the show at 12.30am on February 26th on BBC Four, and on iPlayer (UK only) for the following month.
